וַיָּ֤שֶׂם way·yā·śem But purposed GRAM DICO
דָּנִיֵּאל֙ dā·nî·yêl Daniel GRAM DICO
עַל־ ‘al- in GRAM DICO
לִבּ֔וֹ lib·bōw, his heart GRAM DICO
אֲשֶׁ֧ר ’ă·šer that GRAM DICO
לֹֽא־ lō- not GRAM DICO
יִתְגָּאַ֛ל yiṯ·gā·’al he would defile himself GRAM DICO
בְּפַתְבַּ֥ג bə·p̄aṯ·baḡ with the portion of delicacies GRAM DICO
הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ ham·me·leḵ of the king GRAM DICO
וּבְיֵ֣ין ū·ḇə·yên nor with the wine GRAM DICO
מִשְׁתָּ֑יו miš·tāw; which he drank GRAM DICO

וַיְבַקֵּשׁ֙ way·ḇaq·qêš therefore he requested GRAM DICO
מִשַּׂ֣ר miś·śar of the chief GRAM DICO
הַסָּרִיסִ֔ים has·sā·rî·sîm, of the eunuchs GRAM DICO
אֲשֶׁ֖ר ’ă·šer that GRAM DICO
לֹ֥א lō not GRAM DICO
יִתְגָּאָֽל׃ yiṯ·gā·’āl. he might defile himself GRAM DICO

Daniel 1, 9
וַיִּתֵּ֤ן way·yit·tên And had brought GRAM DICO
הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm God GRAM DICO
אֶת־ ’eṯ-  -  GRAM DICO
דָּ֣נִיֵּ֔אל dā·nî·yêl, Daniel GRAM DICO
לְחֶ֖סֶד lə·ḥe·seḏ into the favor GRAM DICO
וּֽלְרַחֲמִ֑ים ū·lə·ra·ḥă·mîm; and goodwill GRAM DICO
לִפְנֵ֖י lip̄·nê of GRAM DICO
שַׂ֥ר śar the chief GRAM DICO
הַסָּרִיסִֽים׃ has·sā·rî·sîm. of the eunuchs GRAM DICO

וַיֹּ֜אמֶר way·yō·mer And said GRAM DICO

לְדָ֣נִיֵּ֔אל lə·ḏā·nî·yêl, to Daniel GRAM DICO
､
יָרֵ֤א yā·rê fear GRAM DICO
אֲנִי֙ ’ă·nî I GRAM DICO
אֶת־ ’eṯ-  -  GRAM DICO
אֲדֹנִ֣י ’ă·ḏō·nî my lord GRAM DICO
הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ ham·me·leḵ, the king GRAM DICO
､
אֲשֶׁ֣ר ’ă·šer who GRAM DICO
מִנָּ֔ה min·nāh, has appointed GRAM DICO
אֶת־ ’eṯ-  -  GRAM DICO
מַאֲכַלְכֶ֖ם ma·’ă·ḵal·ḵem your food GRAM DICO
וְאֶת־ wə·’eṯ- and GRAM DICO
מִשְׁתֵּיכֶ֑ם miš·tê·ḵem; drink GRAM DICO
–
אֲשֶׁ֡ר ’ă·šer for GRAM DICO
לָמָּה֩ lām·māh why GRAM DICO
יִרְאֶ֨ה yir·’eh should he see GRAM DICO
אֶת־ ’eṯ-  -  GRAM DICO
פְּנֵיכֶ֜ם pə·nê·ḵem your faces GRAM DICO
זֹֽעֲפִ֗ים zō·‘ă·p̄îm, looking worse GRAM DICO
מִן־ min- than GRAM DICO
הַיְלָדִים֙ hay·lā·ḏîm the young men GRAM DICO
אֲשֶׁ֣ר ’ă·šer who [are] GRAM DICO
כְּגִֽילְכֶ֔ם kə·ḡî·lə·ḵem, your age GRAM DICO
؟
וְחִיַּבְתֶּ֥ם wə·ḥî·yaḇ·tem and you would endanger GRAM DICO
אֶת־ ’eṯ-  -  GRAM DICO
רֹאשִׁ֖י rō·šî my head GRAM DICO
לַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ lam·me·leḵ. before the king GRAM DICO

וַיֹּ֥אמֶר way·yō·mer So said GRAM DICO

אֶל־ ’el- to GRAM DICO
הַמֶּלְצַ֑ר ham·mel·ṣar; the steward GRAM DICO
､
אֲשֶׁ֤ר ’ă·šer whom GRAM DICO
מִנָּה֙ min·nāh had set GRAM DICO
שַׂ֣ר śar the chief GRAM DICO
הַסָּֽרִיסִ֔ים has·sā·rî·sîm, of the eunuchs GRAM DICO
עַל־ ‘al- over GRAM DICO
דָּנִיֵּ֣אל dā·nî·yêl Daniel GRAM DICO
､
חֲנַנְיָ֔ה ḥă·nan·yāh, Hananiah GRAM DICO
､
מִֽישָׁאֵ֖ל mî·šā·’êl Mishael GRAM DICO
､
וַעֲזַרְיָֽה׃ wa·‘ă·zar·yāh. and Azariah GRAM DICO

נַס־ nas- test GRAM DICO
נָ֥א nā please GRAM DICO
､
אֶת־ ’eṯ-  -  GRAM DICO
עֲבָדֶ֖יךָ ‘ă·ḇā·ḏe·ḵā your servants GRAM DICO
､
יָמִ֣ים yā·mîm for days GRAM DICO
–
עֲשָׂרָ֑ה ‘ă·śā·rāh; ten GRAM DICO
וְיִתְּנוּ־ wə·yit·tə·nū- and let them give GRAM DICO
לָ֜נוּ lā·nū us GRAM
מִן־ min- some us GRAM DICO
הַזֵּרֹעִ֛ים haz·zê·rō·‘îm vegetables GRAM DICO
וְנֹאכְלָ֖ה wə·nō·ḵə·lāh and to eat GRAM DICO
､
וּמַ֥יִם ū·ma·yim and water GRAM DICO
וְנִשְׁתֶּֽה׃ wə·niš·teh. and to drink GRAM DICO

וְיֵרָא֤וּ wə·yê·rā·’ū And let be examined GRAM DICO
לְפָנֶ֙יךָ֙ lə·p̄ā·ne·ḵā before you GRAM DICO
מַרְאֵ֔ינוּ mar·’ê·nū, our appearance GRAM DICO
וּמַרְאֵה֙ ū·mar·’êh and the appearance GRAM DICO
הַיְלָדִ֔ים hay·lā·ḏîm, of the young men GRAM DICO
הָאֹ֣כְלִ֔ים hā·’ō·ḵə·lîm, who eat GRAM DICO
אֵ֖ת ’êṯ  -  GRAM DICO
פַּתְבַּ֣ג paṯ·baḡ the portion of delicacies GRAM DICO
הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ ham·me·leḵ; of the king GRAM DICO
וְכַאֲשֶׁ֣ר wə·ḵa·’ă·šer and as GRAM DICO
תִּרְאֵ֔ה tir·’êh, you see fit GRAM DICO
､
עֲשֵׂ֖ה ‘ă·śêh [so] deal GRAM DICO
עִם־ ‘im- with GRAM DICO
עֲבָדֶֽיךָ׃ ‘ă·ḇā·ḏe·ḵā. your servants GRAM DICO

וַיִּשְׁמַ֥ע way·yiš·ma‘ So he consented GRAM DICO
לָהֶ֖ם lā·hem with them GRAM
לַדָּבָ֣ר lad·dā·ḇār in matter GRAM DICO
､
הַזֶּ֑ה haz·zeh; this GRAM DICO
וַיְנַסֵּ֖ם way·nas·sêm and tested them GRAM DICO
יָמִ֥ים yā·mîm days GRAM DICO
עֲשָׂרָֽה׃ ‘ă·śā·rāh. ten GRAM DICO

וּמִקְצָת֙ ū·miq·ṣāṯ And at the end GRAM DICO
יָמִ֣ים yā·mîm of days GRAM DICO
עֲשָׂרָ֔ה ‘ă·śā·rāh, ten GRAM DICO
נִרְאָ֤ה nir·’āh appeared GRAM DICO
מַרְאֵיהֶם֙ mar·’ê·hem their features GRAM DICO
ט֔וֹב ṭō·wḇ, better GRAM DICO
וּבְרִיאֵ֖י ū·ḇə·rî·’ê and fatter GRAM DICO
בָּשָׂ֑ר bā·śār; in flesh GRAM DICO
מִן־ min- than GRAM DICO
כָּל־ kāl- all GRAM DICO
הַיְלָדִ֔ים hay·lā·ḏîm, the young men GRAM DICO
הָאֹ֣כְלִ֔ים hā·’ō·ḵə·lîm, who ate GRAM DICO
אֵ֖ת ’êṯ  -  GRAM DICO
