וְאִם־ wə·’im- But if GRAM DICO
לֹ֣א lō cannot GRAM DICO
תוּכְלוּ֮ ṯū·ḵə·lū you explain [it] GRAM DICO
לְהַגִּ֣יד lə·hag·gîḏ to me GRAM DICO
לִי֒ lî to GRAM
וּנְתַתֶּ֨ם ū·nə·ṯat·tem then shall give GRAM DICO
אַתֶּ֥ם ’at·tem you GRAM DICO
לִי֙ lî me GRAM
שְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים šə·lō·šîm thirty GRAM DICO
סְדִינִ֔ים sə·ḏî·nîm, linen garments GRAM DICO
וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֖ים ū·šə·lō·šîm and thirty GRAM DICO
חֲלִיפ֣וֹת ḥă·lî·p̄ō·wṯ changes GRAM DICO
בְּגָדִ֑ים bə·ḡā·ḏîm; of clothing GRAM DICO

וַיֹּ֣אמְרוּ way·yō·mə·rū And they said GRAM DICO
ל֔וֹ lōw, to him GRAM
ח֥וּדָה ḥū·ḏāh Pose GRAM DICO
חִידָתְךָ֖ ḥî·ḏā·ṯə·ḵā your riddle GRAM DICO
､
וְנִשְׁמָעֶֽנָּה׃ wə·niš·mā·‘en·nāh. that we may hear it GRAM DICO

Juges 14, 14
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר way·yō·mer So he said GRAM DICO
לָהֶ֗ם lā·hem, to them GRAM
מֵהָֽאֹכֵל֙ mê·hā·’ō·ḵêl Out of the eater GRAM DICO
יָצָ֣א yā·ṣā came GRAM DICO
מַאֲכָ֔ל ma·’ă·ḵāl, something to eat GRAM DICO
､
וּמֵעַ֖ז ū·mê·‘az and out of the strong GRAM DICO
יָצָ֣א yā·ṣā came GRAM DICO
מָת֑וֹק mā·ṯō·wq; something sweet GRAM DICO
.
וְלֹ֥א wə·lō And not GRAM DICO
יָכְל֛וּ yā·ḵə·lū they could GRAM DICO
לְהַגִּ֥יד lə·hag·gîḏ explain GRAM DICO
הַחִידָ֖ה ha·ḥî·ḏāh the riddle GRAM DICO
שְׁלֹ֥שֶׁת šə·lō·šeṯ three GRAM DICO
יָמִֽים׃ yā·mîm. for days GRAM DICO

וַיְהִ֣י ׀ way·hî But it came to pass GRAM DICO
בַּיּ֣וֹם bay·yō·wm on the day GRAM DICO
､
הַשְּׁבִיעִ֗י haš·šə·ḇî·‘î, seventh GRAM DICO
וַיֹּאמְר֤וּ way·yō·mə·rū that they said GRAM DICO
לְאֵֽשֶׁת־ lə·’ê·šeṯ- to wife GRAM DICO
､
שִׁמְשׁוֹן֙ šim·šō·wn of Samson GRAM DICO
פַּתִּ֣י pat·tî Entice GRAM DICO
אֶת־ ’eṯ-  -  GRAM DICO
אִישֵׁ֗ךְ ’î·šêḵ, your husband GRAM DICO
､
וְיַגֶּד־ wə·yag·geḏ- that he may explain GRAM DICO
לָ֙נוּ֙ lā·nū to us GRAM
אֶת־ ’eṯ-  -  GRAM DICO
הַ֣חִידָ֔ה ha·ḥî·ḏāh, the riddle GRAM DICO
､
פֶּן־ pen- or else GRAM DICO
נִשְׂרֹ֥ף niś·rōp̄ we will burn GRAM DICO
אוֹתָ֛ךְ ’ō·w·ṯāḵ you GRAM DICO
וְאֶת־ wə·’eṯ- and GRAM DICO
בֵּ֥ית bêṯ house GRAM DICO
אָבִ֖יךְ ’ā·ḇîḵ your father's GRAM DICO
בָּאֵ֑שׁ bā·’êš; with fire GRAM DICO
.
הַלְיָרְשֵׁ֕נוּ hal·yā·rə·šê·nū Have in order to take what is ours GRAM DICO
؟
קְרָאתֶ֥ם qə·rā·ṯem you invited GRAM DICO
לָ֖נוּ lā·nū us GRAM
הֲלֹֽא׃ hă·lō. [is that] not [so] GRAM DICO

וַתֵּבְךְּ֩ wat·tê·ḇək And wept GRAM DICO
אֵ֨שֶׁת ’ê·šeṯ wife GRAM DICO
שִׁמְשׁ֜וֹן šim·šō·wn of Samson GRAM DICO
עָלָ֗יו ‘ā·lāw, on him GRAM DICO
וַתֹּ֙אמֶר֙ wat·tō·mer and said GRAM DICO
､
רַק־ raq- only GRAM DICO
שְׂנֵאתַ֙נִי֙ śə·nê·ṯa·nî You hate me GRAM DICO
וְלֹ֣א wə·lō and not GRAM DICO
–
אֲהַבְתָּ֔נִי ’ă·haḇ·tā·nî, You do love me GRAM DICO
הַֽחִידָ֥ה ha·ḥî·ḏāh a riddle GRAM DICO
חַ֙דְתָּ֙ ḥaḏ·tā You have posed GRAM DICO
לִבְנֵ֣י liḇ·nê to the sons GRAM DICO
עַמִּ֔י ‘am·mî, of my people GRAM DICO
､
וְלִ֖י wə·lî but to me GRAM
לֹ֣א lō not GRAM DICO
הִגַּ֑דְתָּה hig·gaḏ·tāh; you have explained [it] GRAM DICO
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר way·yō·mer and he said GRAM DICO
לָ֗הּ lāh, to her GRAM
הִנֵּ֨ה hin·nêh Look GRAM DICO
､
לְאָבִ֧י lə·’ā·ḇî to my father GRAM DICO
וּלְאִמִּ֛י ū·lə·’im·mî or my mother GRAM DICO
､
לֹ֥א lō not GRAM DICO
הִגַּ֖דְתִּי hig·gaḏ·tî I have explained [it] GRAM DICO
וְלָ֥ךְ wə·lāḵ so to you GRAM
אַגִּֽיד׃ ’ag·gîḏ. should I explain [it] GRAM DICO

וַתֵּ֤בְךְּ wat·tê·ḇək And she had wept GRAM DICO
עָלָיו֙ ‘ā·lāw on him GRAM DICO
שִׁבְעַ֣ת šiḇ·‘aṯ seven GRAM DICO
הַיָּמִ֔ים hay·yā·mîm, the days GRAM DICO
､
אֲשֶׁר־ ’ă·šer- while GRAM DICO
הָיָ֥ה hā·yāh lasted GRAM DICO
.
לָהֶ֖ם lā·hem Their GRAM
הַמִּשְׁתֶּ֑ה ham·miš·teh; feast GRAM DICO
וַיְהִ֣י ׀ way·hî and it came to pass GRAM DICO
בַּיּ֣וֹם bay·yō·wm on the day GRAM DICO
､
הַשְּׁבִיעִ֗י haš·šə·ḇî·‘î, seventh GRAM DICO
וַיַּגֶּד־ way·yag·geḏ- that he told GRAM DICO
לָהּ֙ lāh her GRAM
כִּ֣י kî because GRAM DICO
הֱצִיקַ֔תְהוּ hĕ·ṣî·qaṯ·hū, she pressed him so much GRAM DICO
וַתַּגֵּ֥ד wat·tag·gêḏ and she explained GRAM DICO
הַחִידָ֖ה ha·ḥî·ḏāh the riddle GRAM DICO
לִבְנֵ֥י liḇ·nê to the sons GRAM DICO
עַמָּֽהּ׃ ‘am·māh. of her people GRAM DICO

וַיֹּ֣אמְרוּ way·yō·mə·rū So said GRAM DICO
לוֹ֩ lōw to him GRAM
אַנְשֵׁ֨י ’an·šê the men GRAM DICO
הָעִ֜יר hā·‘îr of the city GRAM DICO
בַּיּ֣וֹם bay·yō·wm on the day GRAM DICO
הַשְּׁבִיעִ֗י haš·šə·ḇî·‘î, seventh GRAM DICO
בְּטֶ֙רֶם֙ bə·ṭe·rem before GRAM DICO
יָבֹ֣א yā·ḇō went down GRAM DICO
､
הַחַ֔רְסָה ha·ḥar·sāh, the sun GRAM DICO
מַה־ mah- what [is] GRAM DICO
מָּת֣וֹק mā·ṯō·wq sweeter GRAM DICO
מִדְּבַ֔שׁ mid·də·ḇaš, than honey GRAM DICO
؟
וּמֶ֥ה ū·meh and what [is] GRAM DICO
עַ֖ז ‘az stronger GRAM DICO
מֵאֲרִ֑י mê·’ă·rî; than a lion GRAM DICO
؟
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר way·yō·mer and he said GRAM DICO
לָהֶ֔ם lā·hem, to them GRAM
לוּלֵא֙ lū·lê if not GRAM DICO
חֲרַשְׁתֶּ֣ם ḥă·raš·tem you had plowed GRAM DICO
בְּעֶגְלָתִ֔י bə·‘eḡ·lā·ṯî, with my heifer GRAM DICO
､
לֹ֥א lō not GRAM DICO
מְצָאתֶ֖ם mə·ṣā·ṯem You would have solved GRAM DICO
חִידָתִֽי׃ ḥî·ḏā·ṯî. my riddle GRAM DICO
