וַיַּ֥עַשׂ way·ya·‘aś And he did [what was] GRAM DICO

כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר ka·’ă·šer as soon as GRAM DICO

חָזְקָ֥ה ḥā·zə·qāh was established GRAM DICO

הַמַּמְלָכָ֖ה ham·mam·lā·ḵāh the kingdom GRAM DICO

עָלָ֑יו ‘ā·lāw; for him GRAM DICO

וַֽיַּהֲרֹג֙ way·ya·hă·rōḡ that he executed GRAM DICO

אֶת־ ’eṯ- - GRAM DICO

עֲבָדָ֔יו ‘ă·ḇā·ḏāw, his servants GRAM DICO

הַמַּכִּ֖ים ham·mak·kîm who had murdered GRAM DICO

אֶת־ ’eṯ- - GRAM DICO

הַמֶּ֥לֶךְ ham·me·leḵ the king GRAM DICO

אָבִֽיו׃ ’ā·ḇîw. his father GRAM DICO

בְּנֵיהֶ֖ם bə·nê·hem their children GRAM DICO

הֵמִ֑ית hê·mîṯ; he did execute GRAM DICO

כִּ֣י kî but [did] GRAM DICO

כַכָּת֣וּב ḵak·kā·ṯūḇ as [it is] written GRAM DICO

בַּתּוֹרָ֡ה bat·tō·w·rāh in the Law GRAM DICO

בְּסֵ֣פֶר bə·sê·p̄er in the Book GRAM DICO

מֹשֶׁה֩ mō·šeh of Moses GRAM DICO

､

אֲשֶׁר־ ’ă·šer- where GRAM DICO

צִוָּ֨ה ṣiw·wāh commanded GRAM DICO

､

יְהוָ֜ה Yah·weh Yahweh GRAM DICO

לֵאמֹ֗ר lê·mōr, saying GRAM DICO

､

לֹא־ lō- not GRAM DICO

יָמ֨וּתוּ yā·mū·ṯū shall be put to death GRAM DICO

אָב֤וֹת ’ā·ḇō·wṯ the fathers GRAM DICO

עַל־ ‘al- for GRAM DICO

בָּנִים֙ bā·nîm their children GRAM DICO

､

וּבָנִים֙ ū·ḇā·nîm and the sons GRAM DICO

לֹא־ lō- nor GRAM DICO

יָמ֣וּתוּ yā·mū·ṯū shall be put to death GRAM DICO

עַל־ ‘al- for GRAM DICO

אָב֔וֹת ’ā·ḇō·wṯ, their fathers GRAM DICO

יְהוּדָ֔ה yə·hū·ḏāh, Judah GRAM DICO

וַיַּֽעֲמִידֵ֣ם way·ya·‘ă·mî·ḏêm and set over them GRAM DICO

לְבֵית־ lə·ḇêṯ- according to houses GRAM DICO

אָב֗וֹת ’ā·ḇō·wṯ, [their] fathers' GRAM DICO

､

לְשָׂרֵ֤י lə·śā·rê captains GRAM DICO

הָאֲלָפִים֙ hā·’ă·lā·p̄îm of thousands GRAM DICO

､

וּלְשָׂרֵ֣י ū·lə·śā·rê and captains GRAM DICO

הַמֵּא֔וֹת ham·mê·’ō·wṯ, of hundreds GRAM DICO

､

לְכָל־ lə·ḵāl throughout all GRAM DICO

יְהוּדָ֖ה yə·hū·ḏāh Judah GRAM DICO

וּבִנְיָמִ֑ן ū·ḇin·yā·min; and Benjamin GRAM DICO

–

וַֽיִּפְקְדֵ֗ם way·yip̄·qə·ḏêm, and he numbered them GRAM DICO

לְמִבֶּ֨ן lə·mib·ben from GRAM DICO

עֶשְׂרִ֤ים ‘eś·rîm twenty GRAM DICO

שָׁנָה֙ šā·nāh years old GRAM DICO

וָמַ֔עְלָה wā·ma‘·lāh, and above GRAM DICO

､

וַיִּמְצָאֵ֗ם way·yim·ṣā·’êm, and found them to be GRAM DICO

שְׁלֹשׁ־ šə·lōš- three GRAM DICO

מֵא֨וֹת mê·’ō·wṯ hundred GRAM DICO

אֶ֤לֶף ’e·lep̄ thousand GRAM DICO

בָּחוּר֙ bā·ḥūr choice [men] GRAM DICO

יוֹצֵ֣א yō·w·ṣê [able] to go GRAM DICO

צָבָ֔א ṣā·ḇā, to war GRAM DICO

､

אֹחֵ֖ז ’ō·ḥêz who could handle GRAM DICO

רֹ֥מַח rō·maḥ spear GRAM DICO

וְצִנָּֽה׃ wə·ṣin·nāh. and shield GRAM DICO

וַיִּשְׂכֹּ֣ר way·yiś·kōr And He hired GRAM DICO

מִיִּשְׂרָאֵ֗ל mî·yiś·rā·’êl, from Israel GRAM DICO

מֵ֥אָה mê·’āh a hundred GRAM DICO

אֶ֛לֶף ’e·lep̄ thousand GRAM DICO

גִּבּ֥וֹר gib·bō·wr mighty men of GRAM DICO

חָ֖יִל ḥā·yil valor GRAM DICO

בְּמֵאָ֥ה bə·mê·’āh for a hundred GRAM DICO

כִכַּר־ ḵik·kar- talents GRAM DICO

כָּֽסֶף׃ kā·sep̄. of silver GRAM DICO

וְאִ֣ישׁ wə·’îš But a man GRAM DICO

הָאֱלֹהִ֗ים hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm, of God GRAM DICO

בָּ֤א bā came GRAM DICO

אֵלָיו֙ ’ê·lāw to him GRAM DICO

לֵאמֹ֔ר lê·mōr, saying GRAM DICO

､

הַמֶּ֕לֶךְ ham·me·leḵ king GRAM DICO

､

אַל־ ’al- not GRAM DICO

יָבֹ֥א yā·ḇō do let go GRAM DICO

עִמְּךָ֖ ‘im·mə·ḵā with you GRAM DICO

צְבָ֣א ṣə·ḇā the army GRAM DICO

יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל yiś·rā·’êl; of Israel GRAM DICO

כִּ֣י kî for GRAM DICO

אֵ֤ין ’ên [is] not GRAM DICO

יְהוָה֙ Yah·weh Yahweh GRAM DICO

עִם־ ‘im- with GRAM DICO

יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל yiś·rā·’êl, Israel GRAM DICO

､

כֹּ֖ל kōl [not with] any GRAM DICO

בְּנֵ֥י bə·nê of the sons GRAM DICO

אֶפְרָֽיִם׃ ’ep̄·rā·yim. of Ephraim GRAM DICO

אִם־ ’im- if GRAM DICO

בֹּ֣א bō go GRAM DICO

אַתָּ֔ה ’at·tāh, you GRAM DICO

עֲשֵׂ֖ה ‘ă·śêh be gone GRAM DICO

חֲזַ֣ק ḥă·zaq Be strong GRAM DICO

לַמִּלְחָמָ֑ה lam·mil·ḥā·māh; in battle GRAM DICO

–

יַכְשִֽׁילְךָ֤ yaḵ·šî·lə·ḵā shall make you fall GRAM DICO

הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm [Even so] God GRAM DICO

לִפְנֵ֣י lip̄·nê before GRAM DICO

אוֹיֵ֔ב ’ō·w·yêḇ, the enemy GRAM DICO

–

כִּ֥י kî for GRAM DICO

יֶשׁ־ yeš- has GRAM DICO

כֹּ֛חַ kō·aḥ power GRAM DICO

בֵּאלֹהִ֖ים bê·lō·hîm God GRAM DICO

לַעְז֥וֹר la‘·zō·wr to help GRAM DICO

､

וּלְהַכְשִֽׁיל׃ ū·lə·haḵ·šîl. and to overthrow GRAM DICO
