וַיִּפֹּל֩ way·yip·pōl And fell GRAM DICO
יוֹאָ֨ב yō·w·’āḇ Joab GRAM DICO
אֶל־ ’el- on GRAM DICO
פָּנָ֥יו pā·nāw his face GRAM DICO
､
אַ֛רְצָה ’ar·ṣāh to the ground GRAM DICO
וַיִּשְׁתַּ֖חוּ way·yiš·ta·ḥū and bowed himself GRAM DICO
､
וַיְבָ֣רֶךְ way·ḇā·reḵ and blessed GRAM DICO
אֶת־ ’eṯ-  -  GRAM DICO
הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ ham·me·leḵ; the king GRAM DICO
–
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר way·yō·mer and said GRAM DICO
､
יוֹאָ֡ב yō·w·’āḇ Joab GRAM DICO
הַיּוֹם֩ hay·yō·wm Today GRAM DICO
יָדַ֨ע yā·ḏa‘ knows GRAM DICO
עַבְדְּךָ֜ ‘aḇ·də·ḵā your servant GRAM DICO
כִּי־ kî- that GRAM DICO
מָצָ֨אתִי mā·ṣā·ṯî I have found GRAM DICO
חֵ֤ן ḥên favor GRAM DICO
בְּעֵינֶ֙יךָ֙ bə·‘ê·ne·ḵā in your sight GRAM DICO
､
אֲדֹנִ֣י ’ă·ḏō·nî my lord GRAM DICO
､
הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ ham·me·leḵ, king GRAM DICO
､
אֲשֶׁר־ ’ă·šer- in that GRAM DICO
עָשָׂ֥ה ‘ā·śāh has fulfilled GRAM DICO
הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ ham·me·leḵ the king GRAM DICO
אֶת־ ’eṯ-  -  GRAM DICO
דְּבַ֥ר də·ḇar the request GRAM DICO
[עבדו] ‘aḇ·dōw of GRAM
(עַבְדֶּֽךָ׃) ‘aḇ·de·ḵā. his servant GRAM DICO

וַיָּ֥קָם way·yā·qām So arose GRAM DICO

וַיֵּ֣לֶךְ way·yê·leḵ and went GRAM DICO
גְּשׁ֑וּרָה gə·šū·rāh; to Geshur GRAM DICO
､
וַיָּבֵ֥א way·yā·ḇê and brought GRAM DICO
אֶת־ ’eṯ-  -  GRAM DICO
אַבְשָׁל֖וֹם ’aḇ·šā·lō·wm Absalom GRAM DICO
יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ yə·rū·šā·lim. to Jerusalem GRAM DICO

אֶל־ ’el- to GRAM DICO
בֵּית֔וֹ bê·ṯōw, his own house GRAM DICO
､
וּפָנַ֖י ū·p̄ā·nay but my face GRAM DICO

לֹ֣א lō Not GRAM DICO
יִרְאֶ֑ה yir·’eh; do let him see GRAM DICO
וַיִּסֹּ֤ב way·yis·sōḇ so returned GRAM DICO
אַבְשָׁלוֹם֙ ’aḇ·šā·lō·wm Absalom GRAM DICO
אֶל־ ’el- unto GRAM DICO
בֵּית֔וֹ bê·ṯōw, his own house GRAM DICO
､
וּפְנֵ֥י ū·p̄ə·nê but face GRAM DICO

הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ ham·me·leḵ Of the king GRAM DICO
לֹ֥א lō not GRAM DICO

לֹא־ lō- no one GRAM DICO
הָיָ֧ה hā·yāh there was GRAM DICO
אִישׁ־ ’îš- none GRAM DICO
יָפֶ֛ה yā·p̄eh for his good looks GRAM DICO
–
בְּכָל־ bə·ḵāl in all GRAM DICO
יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל yiś·rā·’êl Israel GRAM DICO
לְהַלֵּ֣ל lə·hal·lêl who was praised GRAM DICO
מְאֹ֑ד mə·’ōḏ; as much as GRAM DICO
מִכַּ֤ף mik·kap̄ from the sole GRAM DICO
רַגְלוֹ֙ raḡ·lōw of his foot GRAM DICO
וְעַ֣ד wə·‘aḏ and to GRAM DICO
קָדְקֳד֔וֹ qā·ḏə·qo·ḏōw, the crown of his head GRAM DICO
לֹא־ lō- no GRAM DICO
הָ֥יָה hā·yāh there was GRAM DICO
ב֖וֹ ḇōw in him GRAM
מֽוּם׃ mūm. blemish GRAM DICO

וּֽבְגַלְּחוֹ֮ ū·ḇə·ḡal·lə·ḥōw And when he cut the hair GRAM DICO
אֶת־ ’eṯ- of GRAM DICO
רֹאשׁוֹ֒ rō·šōw his head GRAM DICO
､
וְֽ֠הָיָה wə·hā·yāh and GRAM DICO
מִקֵּ֨ץ miq·qêṣ at the end GRAM DICO
יָמִ֤ים ׀ yā·mîm of every GRAM DICO
לַיָּמִים֙ lay·yā·mîm year GRAM DICO
אֲשֶׁ֣ר ’ă·šer that GRAM DICO
יְגַלֵּ֔חַ yə·ḡal·lê·aḥ, he cut [it] GRAM DICO
כִּֽי־ kî- because GRAM DICO
כָבֵ֥ד ḵā·ḇêḏ it was heavy GRAM DICO
עָלָ֖יו ‘ā·lāw on him GRAM DICO
וְגִלְּח֑וֹ wə·ḡil·lə·ḥōw; and when he cut it GRAM DICO
וְשָׁקַל֙ wə·šā·qal and he weighed GRAM DICO
אֶת־ ’eṯ-  -  GRAM DICO
שְׂעַ֣ר śə·‘ar the hair GRAM DICO
רֹאשׁ֔וֹ rō·šōw, of his head GRAM DICO
מָאתַ֥יִם mā·ṯa·yim two hundred GRAM DICO
שְׁקָלִ֖ים šə·qā·lîm at shekels GRAM DICO
בְּאֶ֥בֶן bə·’e·ḇen according to standard GRAM DICO
הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ ham·me·leḵ. of the king GRAM DICO

וַיִּֽוָּלְד֤וּ way·yiw·wā·lə·ḏū And were born GRAM DICO
לְאַבְשָׁלוֹם֙ lə·’aḇ·šā·lō·wm to Absalom GRAM DICO
שְׁלוֹשָׁ֣ה šə·lō·wō·šāh three GRAM DICO
בָנִ֔ים ḇā·nîm, sons GRAM DICO
､
וּבַ֥ת ū·ḇaṯ and daughter GRAM DICO
､
אַחַ֖ת ’a·ḥaṯ one GRAM DICO
וּשְׁמָ֣הּ ū·šə·māh and whose name [was] GRAM DICO
תָּמָ֑ר tā·mār; Tamar GRAM DICO
–
הִ֣יא hî she GRAM DICO
הָיְתָ֔ה hā·yə·ṯāh, was GRAM DICO
אִשָּׁ֖ה ’iš·šāh a woman GRAM DICO
יְפַ֥ת yə·p̄aṯ of beautiful GRAM DICO
מַרְאֶֽה׃ mar·’eh. appearance GRAM DICO

בִּירוּשָׁלִַ֖ם bî·rū·šā·lim in Jerusalem GRAM DICO
､
שְׁנָתַ֣יִם šə·nā·ṯa·yim two GRAM DICO
יָמִ֑ים yā·mîm; full years GRAM DICO
וּפְנֵ֥י ū·p̄ə·nê but face GRAM DICO
