I Samuel 4, 17
וַיַּ֨עַן way·ya·‘an so answered GRAM DICO
הַֽמְבַשֵּׂ֜ר ham·ḇaś·śêr the messenger GRAM DICO
וַיֹּ֗אמֶר way·yō·mer, and said GRAM DICO
､
נָ֤ס nās has fled GRAM DICO
יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ yiś·rā·’êl Israel GRAM DICO
לִפְנֵ֣י lip̄·nê before GRAM DICO
פְלִשְׁתִּ֔ים p̄ə·liš·tîm, the Philistines GRAM DICO
､
וְגַ֛ם wə·ḡam and GRAM DICO
מַגֵּפָ֥ה mag·gê·p̄āh a slaughter GRAM DICO
גְדוֹלָ֖ה ḡə·ḏō·w·lāh great GRAM DICO
הָיְתָ֣ה hā·yə·ṯāh there has been GRAM DICO
בָעָ֑ם ḇā·‘ām; among the people GRAM DICO
､
וְגַם־ wə·ḡam- and GRAM DICO
､
שְׁנֵ֨י šə·nê two GRAM DICO
בָנֶ֜יךָ ḇā·ne·ḵā your sons GRAM DICO

הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm of God GRAM DICO

מֵֽעַל־ mê·‘al- off GRAM DICO
הַ֠כִּסֵּא hak·kis·sê the seat GRAM DICO
אֲחֹ֨רַנִּ֜ית ’ă·ḥō·ran·nîṯ backward GRAM DICO
בְּעַ֣ד ׀ bə·‘aḏ by GRAM DICO
יַ֣ד yaḏ the side GRAM DICO
הַשַּׁ֗עַר haš·ša·‘ar, of the gate GRAM DICO
､
וַתִּשָּׁבֵ֤ר wat·tiš·šā·ḇêr and was broken GRAM DICO
､
מַפְרַקְתּוֹ֙ map̄·raq·tōw his neck GRAM DICO
וַיָּמֹ֔ת way·yā·mōṯ, and he died GRAM DICO
､
כִּֽי־ kî- for GRAM DICO
זָקֵ֥ן zā·qên was old GRAM DICO
הָאִ֖ישׁ hā·’îš the man GRAM DICO
､
וְכָבֵ֑ד wə·ḵā·ḇêḏ; and heavy GRAM DICO

וְה֛וּא wə·hū And he GRAM DICO
שָׁפַ֥ט šā·p̄aṭ had judged GRAM DICO
אֶת־ ’eṯ-  -  GRAM DICO
יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל yiś·rā·’êl Israel GRAM DICO
אַרְבָּעִ֥ים ’ar·bā·‘îm forty GRAM DICO
שָׁנָֽה׃ šā·nāh. years GRAM DICO

וְכַלָּת֣וֹ wə·ḵal·lā·ṯōw Now his daughter-in-law GRAM DICO

אֵֽשֶׁת־ ’ê·šeṯ- wife GRAM DICO
､
פִּינְחָס֮ pî·nə·ḥās Phinehas' GRAM DICO
הָרָ֣ה hā·rāh was pregnant GRAM DICO
､
לָלַת֒ lā·laṯ [due] to be delivered GRAM DICO
–
וַתִּשְׁמַ֣ע wat·tiš·ma‘ and when she heard GRAM DICO
אֶת־ ’eṯ-  -  GRAM DICO
הַשְּׁמֻעָ֔ה haš·šə·mu·‘āh, the news GRAM DICO
אֶל־ ’el- that GRAM DICO
הִלָּקַח֙ hil·lā·qaḥ was captured GRAM DICO
､
אֲר֣וֹן ’ă·rō·wn the ark GRAM DICO
הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm, of God GRAM DICO
וּמֵ֥ת ū·mêṯ that were dead GRAM DICO
､
חָמִ֖יהָ ḥā·mî·hā her father-in-law GRAM DICO
וְאִישָׁ֑הּ wə·’î·šāh; and her husband GRAM DICO
וַתִּכְרַ֣ע wat·tiḵ·ra‘ and she bowed herself GRAM DICO
וַתֵּ֔לֶד wat·tê·leḏ, and gave birth GRAM DICO
–
כִּֽי־ kî- for GRAM DICO
נֶהֶפְכ֥וּ ne·hep̄·ḵū came GRAM DICO
עָלֶ֖יהָ ‘ā·le·hā upon her GRAM DICO
צִרֶֽיהָ׃ ṣi·re·hā. her labor pains GRAM DICO

וּכְעֵ֣ת ū·ḵə·‘êṯ And about the time GRAM DICO
מוּתָ֗הּ mū·ṯāh, of her death GRAM DICO
וַתְּדַבֵּ֙רְנָה֙ wat·tə·ḏab·bê·rə·nāh and said GRAM DICO
הַנִּצָּב֣וֹת han·niṣ·ṣā·ḇō·wṯ the women who stood by her GRAM DICO
עָלֶ֔יהָ ‘ā·le·hā, to her GRAM DICO
אַל־ ’al- not GRAM DICO
–
תִּֽירְאִ֖י tî·rə·’î do fear GRAM DICO
כִּ֣י kî for GRAM DICO
בֵ֣ן ḇên a son GRAM DICO
.
יָלָ֑דְתְּ yā·lā·ḏət; You have borne GRAM DICO
וְלֹ֥א wə·lō but not GRAM DICO
､
עָנְתָ֖ה ‘ā·nə·ṯāh she did answer GRAM DICO
וְלֹא־ wə·lō- nor GRAM DICO
שָׁ֥תָה šā·ṯāh did she regard [it] GRAM DICO
לִבָּֽהּ׃ lib·bāh. attention GRAM DICO

לַנַּ֗עַר lan·na·‘ar, the child GRAM DICO
אִֽי־ ’î-  - 
כָבוֹד֙ ḵā·ḇō·wḏ Ichabod GRAM DICO
､
לֵאמֹ֔ר lê·mōr, saying GRAM DICO
､
גָּלָ֥ה gā·lāh has departed GRAM DICO
כָב֖וֹד ḵā·ḇō·wḏ the glory GRAM DICO
מִיִּשְׂרָאֵ֑ל mî·yiś·rā·’êl; from Israel GRAM DICO
אֶל־ ’el- because GRAM DICO
הִלָּקַח֙ hil·lā·qaḥ had been captured GRAM DICO
､
אֲר֣וֹן ’ă·rō·wn the ark GRAM DICO
הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm, of God GRAM DICO

חָמִ֖יהָ ḥā·mî·hā of her father-in-law GRAM DICO
וְאִישָֽׁהּ׃ wə·’î·šāh. and her husband GRAM DICO
