II Samuel 2, 23
וַיְמָאֵ֣ן way·mā·’ên and However he refused GRAM DICO
לָס֗וּר lā·sūr, to turn aside GRAM DICO
–
וַיַּכֵּ֣הוּ way·yak·kê·hū therefore struck him GRAM DICO
אַבְנֵר֩ ’aḇ·nêr Abner GRAM DICO
בְּאַחֲרֵ֨י bə·’a·ḥă·rê with the back GRAM DICO
הַחֲנִ֜ית ha·ḥă·nîṯ of the spear GRAM DICO
אֶל־ ’el- in GRAM DICO
הַחֹ֗מֶשׁ ha·ḥō·meš, the stomach GRAM DICO
וַתֵּצֵ֤א wat·tê·ṣê so that came out GRAM DICO
הַֽחֲנִית֙ ha·ḥă·nîṯ the spear GRAM DICO
מֵאַחֲרָ֔יו mê·’a·ḥă·rāw, of his back GRAM DICO
וַיִּפָּל־ way·yip·pāl- and he fell down GRAM DICO
שָׁ֖ם šām there GRAM DICO
､
וַיָּ֣מָת way·yā·māṯ and died GRAM DICO
[תחתו] ta·ḥa·ṯōw  -  GRAM
(תַּחְתָּ֑יו) taḥ·tāw; on the spot GRAM DICO
.
וַיְהִ֡י way·hî So it was [that] GRAM DICO
､
כָּל־ kāl- as many as GRAM DICO
הַבָּ֣א hab·bā came GRAM DICO
אֶֽל־ ’el- to GRAM DICO
הַמָּקוֹם֩ ham·mā·qō·wm the place GRAM DICO
אֲשֶׁר־ ’ă·šer- where GRAM DICO
נָ֨פַל nā·p̄al fell down GRAM DICO
שָׁ֧ם šām there GRAM DICO
עֲשָׂהאֵ֛ל ‘ă·śā·h·’êl Asahel GRAM DICO
וַיָּמֹ֖ת way·yā·mōṯ and died GRAM DICO
וַֽיַּעֲמֹֽדוּ׃ way·ya·‘ă·mō·ḏū. and stood still GRAM DICO

וַֽיִּרְדְּפ֛וּ way·yir·də·p̄ū And pursued GRAM DICO
יוֹאָ֥ב yō·w·’āḇ Joab GRAM DICO
וַאֲבִישַׁ֖י wa·’ă·ḇî·šay and Abishai GRAM DICO
אַחֲרֵ֣י ’a·ḥă·rê after GRAM DICO
אַבְנֵ֑ר ’aḇ·nêr; Abner GRAM DICO
､
וְהַשֶּׁ֣מֶשׁ wə·haš·še·meš and the sun GRAM DICO
בָּ֔אָה bā·’āh, was going down GRAM DICO
וְהֵ֗מָּה wə·hêm·māh, and when they GRAM DICO
בָּ֚אוּ bā·’ū came GRAM DICO
עַד־ ‘aḏ- to GRAM DICO
גִּבְעַ֣ת giḇ·‘aṯ the hill GRAM DICO
אַמָּ֔ה ’am·māh, of Ammah GRAM DICO
､
אֲשֶׁר֙ ’ă·šer which [is] GRAM DICO
עַל־ ‘al- upon GRAM DICO
פְּנֵי־ pə·nê- the face of GRAM DICO
גִ֔יחַ ḡî·aḥ, Giah GRAM DICO
דֶּ֖רֶךְ de·reḵ by the road to GRAM DICO
מִדְבַּ֥ר miḏ·bar the Wilderness GRAM DICO
גִּבְעֽוֹן׃ giḇ·‘ō·wn. of Gibeon GRAM DICO

וַיִּֽתְקַבְּצ֤וּ way·yiṯ·qab·bə·ṣū And gathered together GRAM DICO
בְנֵֽי־ ḇə·nê- the sons GRAM DICO
בִנְיָמִן֙ ḇin·yā·min of Benjamin GRAM DICO
אַחֲרֵ֣י ’a·ḥă·rê behind GRAM DICO
אַבְנֵ֔ר ’aḇ·nêr, Abner GRAM DICO
､
וַיִּהְי֖וּ way·yih·yū and became GRAM DICO
לַאֲגֻדָּ֣ה la·’ă·ḡud·dāh unit GRAM DICO
､
אֶחָ֑ת ’e·ḥāṯ; a GRAM DICO
וַיַּ֣עַמְד֔וּ way·ya·‘am·ḏū, and took their stand GRAM DICO
עַ֥ל ‘al on GRAM DICO
רֹאשׁ־ rōš- top GRAM DICO
גִּבְעָ֖ה giḇ·‘āh of hill GRAM DICO
אֶחָֽת׃ ’e·ḥāṯ. a GRAM DICO

וַיִּקְרָ֨א way·yiq·rā And called GRAM DICO
אַבְנֵ֜ר ’aḇ·nêr Abner GRAM DICO
אֶל־ ’el- to GRAM DICO
יוֹאָ֗ב yō·w·’āḇ, Joab GRAM DICO
､
וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ way·yō·mer and said GRAM DICO
､
הֲלָנֶ֙צַח֙ hă·lā·ne·ṣaḥ shall forever GRAM DICO
؟
תֹּ֣אכַל tō·ḵal devour GRAM DICO
חֶ֔רֶב ḥe·reḇ, the sword GRAM DICO
הֲל֣וֹא hă·lō·w do not GRAM DICO
יָדַ֔עְתָּה yā·ḏa‘·tāh, you know GRAM DICO
כִּֽי־ kî- that GRAM DICO
מָרָ֥ה mā·rāh bitter GRAM DICO
תִהְיֶ֖ה ṯih·yeh it will be GRAM DICO
בָּאַחֲרוֹנָ֑ה bā·’a·ḥă·rō·w·nāh; in the latter end GRAM DICO
؟
וְעַד־ wə·‘aḏ- then how GRAM DICO
מָתַי֙ mā·ṯay long GRAM DICO
לֹֽא־ lō- not you GRAM DICO
תֹאמַ֣ר ṯō·mar will it be until you tell GRAM DICO
לָעָ֔ם lā·‘ām, the people GRAM DICO
לָשׁ֖וּב lā·šūḇ to return GRAM DICO
מֵאַחֲרֵ֥י mê·’a·ḥă·rê from pursuing GRAM DICO
אֲחֵיהֶֽם׃ ’ă·ḥê·hem. their brothers GRAM DICO

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר way·yō·mer and said GRAM DICO
､
יוֹאָ֔ב yō·w·’āḇ, Joab GRAM DICO
חַ֚י ḥay [As] lives GRAM DICO
､
הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm, God GRAM DICO
כִּ֥י kî unless GRAM DICO
לוּלֵ֖א lū·lê surely GRAM DICO
דִּבַּ֑רְתָּ dib·bar·tā; you had spoken GRAM DICO
､
כִּ֣י kî surely GRAM DICO
אָ֤ז ’āz then GRAM DICO
מֵֽהַבֹּ֙קֶר֙ mê·hab·bō·qer by morning GRAM DICO
נַעֲלָ֣ה na·‘ă·lāh would have given up GRAM DICO
הָעָ֔ם hā·‘ām, the people GRAM DICO
אִ֖ישׁ ’îš all GRAM DICO
מֵאַחֲרֵ֥י mê·’a·ḥă·rê pursuing GRAM DICO
אָחִֽיו׃ ’ā·ḥîw. their brothers GRAM DICO

וַיִּתְקַ֤ע way·yiṯ·qa‘ So blew GRAM DICO
יוֹאָב֙ yō·w·’āḇ Joab GRAM DICO
בַּשּׁוֹפָ֔ר baš·šō·w·p̄ār, a trumpet GRAM DICO
､
וַיַּֽעַמְדוּ֙ way·ya·‘am·ḏū and stood still GRAM DICO
כָּל־ kāl- all GRAM DICO
הָעָ֔ם hā·‘ām, the people GRAM DICO
וְלֹֽא־ wə·lō- and not GRAM DICO
יִרְדְּפ֥וּ yir·də·p̄ū did pursue GRAM DICO
ע֖וֹד ‘ō·wḏ anymore GRAM DICO
､
אַחֲרֵ֣י ’a·ḥă·rê after GRAM DICO
יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל yiś·rā·’êl; Israel GRAM DICO
וְלֹֽא־ wə·lō- nor GRAM DICO
יָסְפ֥וּ yā·sə·p̄ū they GRAM DICO
ע֖וֹד ‘ō·wḏ anymore GRAM DICO
לְהִלָּחֵֽם׃ lə·hil·lā·ḥêm. did fight GRAM DICO

וְאַבְנֵ֣ר wə·’aḇ·nêr And Abner GRAM DICO
וַֽאֲנָשָׁ֗יו wa·’ă·nā·šāw, and his men GRAM DICO
הָֽלְכוּ֙ hā·lə·ḵū went on GRAM DICO
בָּֽעֲרָבָ֔ה bā·‘ă·rā·ḇāh, through the plain GRAM DICO
､
כֹּ֖ל kōl all GRAM DICO
הַלַּ֣יְלָה hal·lay·lāh night GRAM DICO
הַה֑וּא ha·hū; that GRAM DICO
וַיַּעַבְר֣וּ way·ya·‘aḇ·rū and crossed over GRAM DICO
אֶת־ ’eṯ-  -  GRAM DICO
הַיַּרְדֵּ֗ן hay·yar·dên, the Jordan GRAM DICO
､
וַיֵּֽלְכוּ֙ way·yê·lə·ḵū and went through GRAM DICO
כָּל־ kāl- all GRAM DICO
הַבִּתְר֔וֹן hab·biṯ·rō·wn, Bithron GRAM DICO
､
וַיָּבֹ֖אוּ way·yā·ḇō·’ū and they came GRAM DICO
מַחֲנָֽיִם׃ ma·ḥă·nā·yim. to Mahanaim GRAM DICO
